For years I’ve been recommending Pedialyte to my clients who complain about muscle cramps. Often times, muscle cramps are a sign of dehydration and I remember a few years ago, a spin instructor of mine talking about the benefits of it to replenish fluids and electrolytes (those are the minerals in your body that carry electrical signals that power your nerves and muscles, maintain your blood’s proper pH, and balance fluids in your body) lost from sweating and dehydration.
So I decided to try it for myself. I’m not a big fan of the popular sports drinks – I just don’t like the taste. I bought Pedialyte Powder Packs in Strawberry Lemonade. It actually tastes pretty good and doesn’t have as much sugar as some of the other sports drinks.
I don’t drink it everyday; just after an intense Spin Class or a tough day of yard work and occasionally before bed to keep those nighttime muscle cramps at bay. I have to say it really does help.
Obviously it’s good to stay hydrated for other reasons too, but when you just can’t quench your thirst with water, give Pedialyte a try.
